Unlike fiberglass hoods, AMD steel hoods are engineered to resist flexing and warping over time, maintaining their shape and appearance for years to come. The black electro coat finish acts as a sealer to protect against rust and corrosion, though it is not a primer. As such, all hoods will require standard prep work, including test fitting, sanding, and priming before painting.
For optimal results, we strongly recommend having the hood painted and installed by a qualified auto body technician.
