For the first time, the iconic cowl induction hood has been crafted without the 1979-1980 front style line as found originally on the 73-78 models. After many requests from the truck community, AMD has answered the call to provide a top quality product specifically design for your trucks.
The All-New Steel 2" Cowl Hood maintains the historical integrity of the vehicles it is designed for, particularly aligning with the specifications of the 1973-1978 models, yet it is also compatible with up to 1980 models. This hood not only elevates the aesthetic appeal with its raised cowl induction look but also enhances the overall functionality, promoting better engine ventilation and performance.
Hoods are stamped from high quality OE gauge steel on new tools. When compared to competitors products, AMD's premium hood features the correct shape, size, bends, holes, ribs, and fully finished factory style underside, like original. Arrives EDP coated to help protect against rust and corrosion.

Auto Metal Direct (AMD) hoods are designed to be a direct bolt-on replacement to your vehicles stock hood. All applications utilize your vehicles stock hinges and latch assembly. Each hood features a fully finished, factory style underside. Unlike fiberglass hoods, AMD steel hoods will not flex or warp over time. Regardless of where you are located, AMD steel hoods will stay looking great for years to come!
AMD steel hoods arrive in a black electro coat finish. This is not a primer. This is a sealer put on the steel to protect against rust. All hoods will require normal prep work (test fit, sand, prime) before paint can be applied. We strongly recommend having the hood painted and installed by a qualified auto body technician.
This item, due to its size and weight, is much more susceptible to shipping damage. AMD ships this item in an additional custom foam-padded box. Boxing fees are in addition to standard shipping.
Note: This product does not come with any installation hardware or accessories.

AMD continues to impress me with their quality and their desire to produce premium products for the trucks we love so much. This hood is a game changer. No one has offered a cowl hood for these trucks without the front style line and it has always made me wonder why. I reached out and asked about this and here we go. A cowl hood for these trucks that is more correct for the early round eye trucks and the fit and finish is excellent. Thanks AMD
